Mega Man 11 Release Date & Details Revealed

In celebration of Mega Man's 30th anniversary, Capcom's Mega Man 11 is set to release on October 2 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.

Mega Man 11 brings the character back with a new Double Gear system, which allows for various upgrades. Speed Gear allows the player to slow down time, making it easier to traverse difficult areas of the game. Power Gear gives Mega Man the ability to charge his Mega Buster even further than previously, causing special attacks to be more powerful. Finally, Double Gear allows Mega Man to use both gears at once, doubling his destructive power.

As described on the Capcom Press Center:

"In the events of Mega Man 11, long-time mustachioed series villain Dr. Wily is back to his mischievous ways and has had a true flash of evil genius, deciding to invest in an ambitious idea from his time at Robot University where he studied alongside Dr. Light, Mega Man’s benevolent creator. Dr. Light, who also recalls this inventive idea, decides to upgrade Mega Man with this powerful prototype known as the Double Gear system, installing it into his circuits and expanding his abilities for the greatest fight yet for everlasting peace as they take on the evil attempts of Dr. Wily to conquer the world."

Additionally, Capcom celebrated Mega Man's 30th birthday with the recently released Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 + 2 on the Nintendo Switch. This collection allows for all 10 original Mega Man games to be playable on the platform. To celebrate this year even further, Capcom is releasing Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 on June 24 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Both Mega Man 11 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2 will be playable at the Capcom booth (South Hall, #2223) during E3 from June 12-14, 2018.
