Rainbow Six Siege: Outbreak Starts Tomorrow

This afternoon, Ubisoft confirmed that the new Rainbow Six Siege event, Outbreak, will be introduced in tomorrow’s patch.

The event will be playable from March 6 to April 3, and contains two new operators: Finka and Lion. Outbreak is a free-to-play co-op event taking place alongside Operation Chimera, and focuses on a three player team fighting to stop a parasite from spreading.

Operators playable during Outbreak are Finka, Lion, Smoke, Ying, Buck, Kapkan, Ash, Doc, Tachanka, Glaz, and the Recruit. The new infected hostiles are Grunts, Breachers, Rooters, Smashers, and Apex.

On February 18, Ubisoft US released a video—see below—containing gameplay and tips for the upcoming event. Full patch notes can be found on the Rainbow Six official site.

Outbreak will have three new levels—Resort, Hospital, and Junkyard—solely designed for co-op play. It will also make a variety of cosmetic items available via the new Outbreak Packs.

Every player that starts the Outbreak event will receive four Outbreak Packs for free after starting the event. The Packs will not produce duplicate items, contain one item each, and have a total of 50 cosmetic drop options.

The patch is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the following times:

PC: 9:00 - 10:00am EST

Playstation 4: 10:00 - 11:00am EST

Xbox One: 11:00 - 12:00pm EST
