Nintendo Switch Resets Play Times After One Year
Tomorrow, the Nintendo Switch celebrates its first anniversary and a problem to go along with it. The record-breaking console was reported to be resetting users’ play times after one year of ownership.
Shortly after, the issue was confirmed by both Gamespot and IGN. This will not be an issue for players who have owned the Switch for less then a year, but Gamespot cautions players to screenshot their player profile now if your play times matter to you.
For now, the problem has only been reported for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild—owned by an estimated 55 percent of Switch owners—as the game was released alongside the console one year ago. The next game to be affected would be Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which launched April 28 of last year, followed by Splatoon 2 on July 21.
Nintendo has yet to release an official response to the issue, but according to IGN the problem can be fixed with a firmware update.
